Minutes of Meeting of Weymouth Board of Commissioners

The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the Village of Weymouth was held on Dec 7th, 2020 in the meeting room at the Medical Centre with Commissioners Gaudett, Frizzell and Mullen present.

Meeting was called to order by the Chair at 7:00 pm.

The minutes of the meeting of Nov 2nd, 2020 were approved as presented on motion by Commissioner Frizzell and seconded by Commissioner Mullen

Business Arising out of the Minutes:
-No further up date from building inspector
-Gravel ordered
-GIC renewed

Correspondence:
-More correspondence received from Dept of Environment regarding the medical centre water supply.
-email from Municipality requesting village tax rate for 2021
-Request received for the Village to sponsor a new Christmas lighting contest. Given time limitations the request was forwarded by e-mail to each of the commissioners. Request received unanimous support and support was confirmed to the organizers who will handle the logistics of the event.

Financial Reports: An updated financial report was presented by Clerk Treasurer. Approved on motion by Commissioner Mullen, seconded by Commissioner Frizzell. Audited financial statements for year ending March 31st are now on hand.

New Business:
-Clerk advised that the audited financial statements require formal approval. Following review, it was moved by Commissioner Frizzell, seconded by Commissioner Mullen “that the audited financial statements be approved as submitted”, carried.
-As requested by the Municipality and after considerable discussion the village tax rate was set at $0.29 per hundred dollars of assessment on motion by Commissioner Frizzell, seconded by Commissioner Mullen.

Commission meetings will continue to be held on the first Monday of the month unless otherwise advised. Next meeting will be Monday January 4th, 2021. There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 7:45 on motion Commissioner Mullen seconded by Commissioner Frizzell.
