Minutes of Meeting of Weymouth Board of Commissioners

The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the Village of Weymouth was held on Nov 1st, 2021 in the meeting room at the Medical Centre with Commissioners Gaudett, Frizzell, and Mullen present.

Meeting was called to order by the Chair at 7:00 pm.

The minutes of the meeting of September 13, 2021 were approved as presented on motion by Commissioner Mullen and seconded by Commissioner Frizzell

Business Arising out of the Minutes:
-We continue to await details of changes in insurance coverage as it relates to fire dept.
-No new developments in roof repair/replacement.
-Lions water project has been tabled pending further developments

Correspondence:
-Letter from the Municipality advising of changes being made in Accessibility Committee. Committee membership has been finalized, and we have been requested to ratify same.
-Email from Dorothy Doucette on behalf of “Spark the Spirit Christmas Light Show” requesting funding for their 2021 Christmas light contest.

Financial Reports: An updated financial report was presented by Clerk Treasurer. Approved on motion by Commissioner Frizzell, seconded by Commissioner Mullen.

New Business:
-With reference to the letter from the Municipality, it was Moved by Commissioner Frizzell, Seconded by Commissioner Mullen “That the village commission ratify the appointments made by the Municipality of Digby to the Accessibility Committee”, Motion Carried
-With reference to the request for funding for the Spark the Spirit Christmas Light Show, it was moved by Commissioner Frizzell, seconded by Commissioner Mullen, that “the funding request for the Spark the Spirit Christmas Light show for $650 be approved”. Motion Carried.

Commission meetings will continue to be held on the first Monday of the month unless otherwise advised. Next meeting will be Monday December 6th, 2021. There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 7:50 on motion Commissioner Frizzell seconded by Commissioner Mullen
